Everyone has a passion for something and I suppose mine is writing and wine. So I thought - hey, why not do both? Drinking wine was a fantastic hobby, but I wanted to know more. So, I decided to study and sit my WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust) Level 1 & 2 exams, absorbing everything I could about wine. At first it was daunting... sticking your nose in a glass and trying to smell things you'll usually find on a field. (Who smells grass in a dry Chablis? Apparently I did.) But in time, I learned some skills - yes, skills, which helped me find some of the best wines I've ever tried.
Don't believe me? Ask my family. Always seeking comfort in an old fashioned Malbec or Rioja, I pushed them into trying new countries, grapes and flavours. It was an uphill battle but now, they proudly wave the banner for Pinot Noir and a ripe Zinfandel. You're welcome.
Seeking out tasting events and trying new wines, are just the tip of the vineyard for
me. I want to recommend everything there is to try, sharing my favourite finds with the rest of you.
It's not just wines and brands that I want to share, but the best products I've used - all easily accessible from Amazon both in the UK and USA.
So, if you're stuck looking for gifts, or just want to treat yourself - stick around and let's get squeezing!
